South MacDill restaurant, bar and arcade from a Tampa hospitality group. Publishes Bucs and Gators schedules, NFL and college football all season, and Premier League on weekends. Says it has 80 TVs.
220 East sits on Davis Boulevard in the small village strip at the top of Davis Islands, and its own site calls it a locally owned American kitchen 24 years strong. The menu runs wider than most neighbourhood rooms: shrimp and grits, a hand-cut New York strip, pizzas including a dill-pickle one the site tells you to trust it on, and a weekend brunch with chicken and waffles. Its Cuban sandwich is built on Cuban bread from La Segunda, which it names on the menu. Several dishes are marked GF on the menu itself.
7th + Grove sits on East Seventh Avenue in Ybor City and describes itself as the flagship of the 7th + Grove Hospitality group. The cooking is Southern comfort food crossed with Guyanese flavours, served with what the site calls creatively crafted cocktails, and the room runs late on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is one of the Ybor rooms Creative Loafing Tampa Bay lists among Tampa Bay's restaurants, and it leans into events... a Saturday day party with hookahs and small bites, NFL Sundays, private parties and catering.
Go early. It turns into a late-night spot later in the evening.
Al's cooks Tennessee-style barbecue in Ybor City, dry-rubbed ribs smoked over wood with a tomato-based sauce, and it has won best barbecue in Tampa more times than anyone bothers to count. The food is family food in the literal sense, with dishes on the menu named for the people they came from ... Uncle John's smoked sausage, Aunt Nita's black eyed peas, Sparky's pulled pork, Mazie's serve-it-up yellow rice and chicken. The business started as a concession stand in 2003 and became a sit-down restaurant in 2009, and it now runs barbecue and soul food out of one address on East Seventh Avenue after folding the two shops together.

Bar Terroir is a French bistro and wine bar on Henderson Boulevard in South Tampa that opened in 2025 and calls itself 'a francophiles' celebration of french cooking and service'. It entered the MICHELIN Guide for the first time in the 2026 Florida selection as a Recommended restaurant, one of four Tampa additions that year.
Coco Lov is a family-run dessert shop on South MacDill built around coconut milk, dates and sea moss. The ice cream, cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, smoothies and bowls are plant-based, gluten-free and dairy-free, with no refined sugar. The current Tampa Instagram bio publishes daily hours, and the official menu lists the Tampa address and the ingredients for each dessert.
Cru Cellars is a wine bar and bottle shop on South MacDill that describes itself as specialising in small-production bottles. It runs two sets of hours, one for the retail shop and one for the kitchen, which is a fair signal of how it works: people buy a bottle to take away and people sit and eat from the same room. The retail side opens earlier than the kitchen on Fridays.
HaleLife is a bakery and bistro on South Dale Mabry Highway whose whole kitchen is built around food restrictions rather than around a diet trend. Its own South Tampa page states the rule plainly: 100% Gluten-Free, Vegan, & Allergy Friendly. The kitchen is dedicated free from gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts other than coconut, and shellfish, traced down to the manufacturer, and the company says it has had no reported reactions since opening in 2017. The board runs to beignets, cinnamon rolls, donuts, breakfast tacos, pizza and cakes. USA Today named it a top gluten free bakery in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The second Hattricks, on Henderson Blvd. The company's site is built around game days and says both rooms are open every day.
Henderson's is the neighbourhood bar next door to The Blind Goat on Henderson Boulevard. Its website is gone, and its own Instagram now goes by Henderson Live and calls the room an entertainment bar in South Tampa, with open mic night every Monday at 7 p.m. The newest post we could date is from 19 September 2026.
Jimbo's has been smoking pork and ribs on West Kennedy Boulevard since 1970, and its own site claims the title without hedging: the best barbecue in southern Florida since 1970. It is a family-owned and operated business and describes itself as decades of delectable barbecue rather than anything more fashionable. That's So Tampa has written about it as a pit that has been going for over fifty years.
Olivia is a modern Italian restaurant on West Swann Avenue in South Tampa, describing itself as 'a modern Italian restaurant offering the authentic flavors of a traditional trattoria combined with the creative flair of a chef-inspired menu'. The dining room looks into a working dough room where staff make pizza dough, fresh mozzarella, pasta and ravioli, and there is an open bar with a temperature-controlled wine wall and a sommelier on site. A second Olivia opened in St. Petersburg. The Tampa restaurant has been MICHELIN Recommended in both the 2025 and 2026 Florida selections.
Osteria Natalina is a dinner-only Italian room on South MacDill, open Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 and closed Mondays. It states its hospitality position on the front page: we see our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It sits within a few hundred feet of Restaurant BT, The Brother and Pane Rustica, on the stretch of MacDill that has quietly become one of the denser independent runs in the city.
Pane Rustica is a bakery and restaurant on South MacDill that its own site describes as 'serving South Tampa for 26 years'. It runs as a single room where the bakery counter and the dining room share the same space, and it does its own wholesale baking alongside the restaurant. The kitchen also handles catering and private events out of the same address.
Also called Walter's Press Box Sports Emporium. A South Tampa sports bar since 1978 with 42 screens, a patio with screens, and hours of 11 AM to 3 AM every day.
Open late. Go earlier if you want a calmer room.
Restaurant BT is chef BT Nguyen's flagship on South MacDill Avenue in Palma Ceia, the fine dining half of a pair that also includes Bistro BT on Henderson Boulevard and BT To Go. Nguyen cooks French-influenced Vietnamese food drawn from the kitchen she grew up in, and her work has been covered by Bon Appetit, Travel & Leisure and Food Network's Emeril's Florida. Mondays are kept for private dinners only. It has been MICHELIN Recommended in both the 2025 and 2026 Florida selections.
Sa Ri One is a Korean kitchen on West Cypress Street behind the airport industrial belt, a room its own site describes as a cozy diner-style restaurant with simple Korean decor rather than anything grand. The menu runs the full range most Tampa Korean menus skip: jok bal, or sliced steamed pig's trotter, bibim naeng myun, jajang myun, dol sot bi bim bob in the hot stone bowl, seafood pancake, galbi and a bosam section, with banchan that changes by season. There are grills in the tables, so you can order from the menu or cook marinated meat and vegetables at your seat. The Cypress Street room closed briefly during summer 2026 and was open again by late August; its current site publishes a full menu and daily hours. Creative Loafing has put it on both its list of classic Tampa restaurants and its chef-sourced guide to the city's best Asian kitchens.
Streetlight Taco is a single-location taqueria on Henderson Boulevard in South Tampa, open seven days for lunch and dinner. It has held a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand in both the 2025 and 2026 Florida selections and displays the 2026 Bib on its own site, which makes it one of only four Bib Gourmand restaurants in Tampa.
The Blind Goat is a Prohibition-styled bar and eatery on Henderson Boulevard that describes itself as modern industrial and built for the social, working adult. It runs local craft beer, feature cocktails, pizza and small plates. It is the latest-closing room found in this sector: 3 AM on Friday and Saturday, against a midnight close the rest of the week.
Open late. Go earlier if you want a calmer room.
The Brother is named after a person. Its own site explains that the Brother, or Sylas as the family calls him, is the youngest of three children belonging to owners Ashton and Joel Sanchez, and that he is the reason the restaurant exists. It is a small Italian room on South MacDill in Palma Ceia describing its cooking as Italian cuisine with a creative flair.
A South Tampa neighbourhood bar that calls itself Tampa's best local bar, with a full bar, darts and games, a food truck instead of a kitchen, and live music. It leans hard on sport, billing itself as the home for UFC, Bucs, Lightning, Bills and Sabres games, and runs weekly and monthly promotions and viewing parties.
Live music some nights. Go before the band starts if you want to talk.
Wright's opened on 20 April 1963, started by Marjorie and Pete Wright, who thought Tampa needed a gourmet shop. It has stayed on South Dale Mabry ever since as a counter-service deli, bakery and caterer, and it is the sandwich most long-time Tampa residents name first. Breads run to pumpernickel, rye, whole wheat, buttercrust white, onion rolls, wraps and Cuban. It closes on Sundays and shuts at 5:30 on weekdays, which tells you it is a lunch house, not a dinner one.
